The race was extended for 6:30 am but that was all good since I had made it there early. We kicked off and we were met with rain at around montreaux .
It was cold , very cold and windy , it was even a struggle just seeing where we were heading but we had to keep on moving , the down pour stopped around Evian .
With exception of the rain and the wet ground which was yet another problem we cruised on till we reached the first food stand which by then was the best thing in that race.
Having fought the rain and windy storms I thanked the heavens for that bite because I needed some food to recharge my lost energy.
After there it was now not about the bike qualities anymore , real skill and energy kicked in and so I started gaining on the other bikers passing them with speed and picking up on my earlier lost time.
The way down to Lausanne was just too sweet, we had gone through the storm and hunger and now I was at my best, the sun was out ,at this point many others were also tired and some had bike problems , I was just cruising.
My friend joked that at that time I might have been a 'cruising machine ' without knowing because I was unstoppable then onwards till the end.
I just want to say this would not have been possible without the prayers and support of all those who went off their way to come together to make this mission a success and on that note am thanking everyone very very much and those who had not yet maybe found the time to give their pledges it is still not late.
